Check out the First Look at MCU’s Galactus in a Leaked Video
This year’s San Diego Comic-Con was quite the event, especially for Marvel Studios fans. They dropped some major announcements that had us all talking. Marvel surprised us by bringing back Robert Downey Jr., but not as Iron Manโheโs stepping into the shoes of Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thatโs not all; they also gave us some juicy updates on the upcoming ‘Avengers’ films.
Speaking of movies, ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ and ‘Thunderbolts*’ also got their share of the spotlight with some fresh details. Another big news was about the ‘Fantastic Four’ movie, which now has a cool title, ‘First Steps.’
The ‘Fantastic Four’ will whisk us back to the 1960s, but with a futuristic twist. Itโs like seeing the 60s but spruced up with something extra. Matt Shakman, the director, is pulling out all stops to make the superpowers seem as real as possible. Heโs even working with scientists and animal experts to get it just right.
Then there’s the teaser they showed us. It started with Reed Richards, played by Pedro Pascal, in a classroom setting, cheekily asking if weโd like to see an explosion. The footage, designed to mimic old-school TV with its 4:3 aspect ratio, really set a nostalgic mood. We got a glimpse of The Thing, portrayed by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who appeared almost mysterious in a dating show scene.
UPDATE: They have removed the video, but you can also see it here
The team, donned in astronaut suits with their last names tagged, were seen getting on a retro-futuristic rocket. As the rocket launched, the scene expanded beyond the old TV frame. The sneak peek wrapped up with a partial view of Galactusโ face that stayed true to the comics.
Ralph Ineson is set to play Galactus, and that’s something I can’t wait to see. The film is set to kick off filming at Pinewood Studios in London soon and is slated for release on July 25, 2025.
