The buzz around ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ hit a peak yesterday as early footage from the film found its way onto social media. While we can’t show the video here, those eager to get a glimpse can find it on r/LeaksAndRumors.

The leak includes a scene where Reed Richards, portrayed by Pedro Pascal, dives into the concept of parallel dimensions while talking to a group of kids. We also catch the team donned in blue spacesuits before their transformation into superheroes. The footage shows a quick look at the Fantasticar zipping through New York City, a glimpse of the Baxter Building, and a shadowy peek at The Thing on a game show.

In an unexpected reveal, the video gives us our first look at Galactus, shown eyeing the team’s skyscraper base. Although Marvel quickly took action to remove the footage from public view, it’s still floating around online platforms like Reddit and X for the determined searcher.

UPDATE: They removed the trailer, but we have this now

Director Matt Shakman shared insights with Entertainment Weekly on how they put the footage together. They filmed scenes in an astronaut prep area and on the set of a dating game show titled ‘Let’s Make a Match.’ They also shot segments of a weekly science show hosted by Reed Richards for kids. The final footage was a blend of these shots with pre-visualization scenes and animatics.

The cast lineup for this much-anticipated reboot is exciting. Alongside Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby will star as Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman, with Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, aka The Thing. The formidable Galactus will be played by Ralph Ineson, and Julia Garner steps into the role of Shalla-Bal, the Silver Surfer. Adding more intrigue, Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne are cast in mystery roles that have yet to be revealed.

The plot centers around Galactus and the Silver Surfer targeting Earth for destruction, a storyline that promises to bring high stakes and intense action. Director Matt Shakman is collaborating with writers from some big titles. Josh Friedman, co-writer of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, and Cam Squires of ‘WandaVision’ fame are on board. Eric Pearson, known for his work on ‘Black Widow’, has recently joined to give the screenplay a final touch-up.

We can expect to see ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ in theaters on July 25, 2025. It’s clear from the leaked footage and the big names attached that Marvel is pulling out all the stops for this reboot. Let’s keep our eyes peeled for more updates as they come!
