‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Theory: Galactus Feeds on the Negative Zone and Earth Could Be Next
The Negative Zone has long been a mysterious and dangerous dimension in Marvel Comics, and it could have a bigger role in the MCU than we think. We know this alternate reality is full of powerful threats, but what if it’s more than that? What if Galactus, the cosmic giant known for devouring entire worlds, has already claimed the Negative Zone as his feeding ground?
In the comics, the Negative Zone is a vast and chaotic dimension, unlike anything in our universe. Time and space work differently there, and most importantly, it’s home to strange, energy-filled worlds that could sustain someone like Galactus.
Now, imagine if he had already been consuming planets there for eons, keeping his hunger at bay while waiting for the right moment to move to our universe. That would make the Negative Zone not just a terrifying place but also the perfect source of food for a being like him.
We might have already seen hints that something is coming from this dangerous dimension. In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the Quantum Realm is explored in greater depth, and it shares some similarities with the Negative Zone. Could this have been Marvel’s way of teasing the bigger threat of Galactus?
Maybe the thinning of the barriers between dimensions, caused by events like the Blip or Kang’s time manipulations, will lead to Galactus finally breaking free from the Negative Zone and turning his attention to our universe.
This would be an exciting twist for the MCU because Galactus wouldn’t just be any villain. He’s not here to conquer Earth like Thanos; he’s here to devour it. He’s a cosmic force of nature, and if he’s been feasting on the Negative Zone for so long, Earth could be next on his menu.
On top of that, we might see some familiar faces getting involved. The Fantastic Four, known for their connection to the Negative Zone, could play a huge role in stopping Galactus. Reed Richards is famous for his experiments with interdimensional travel, and it’s not hard to imagine him accidentally opening a doorway to the Negative Zone, only to realize too late that he’s just unleashed Galactus into our reality.
This would set up a major storyline where the Fantastic Four, alongside other heroes, must figure out a way to send Galactus back before he consumes Earth. But here’s the kicker: what if they can’t send him back?
What if Galactus has already absorbed enough power from the Negative Zone to become unstoppable? The heroes might have to do more than just close the portal—they’d have to find a way to defeat him head-on, something even the Avengers might not be able to handle.
In the comics, Galactus’ hunger is endless, and his feeding on the Negative Zone could mean that by the time he arrives in our universe, he’s stronger than ever. If this happens, Earth could be in more danger than it ever was with Thanos. With the multiverse and different dimensions now in play, the idea of Galactus devouring entire realities could take the MCU to a whole new level.
This makes for a thrilling potential storyline in the next few phases, especially with the Fantastic Four and Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon.
