Fans Outraged Over Potential Romance Between Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda and Robert Downey Jr.’s Doom in the MCU Calling it Incestuous

With Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom, excitement and speculation have surged.

His inclusion in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and the future ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ has sparked plenty of theories.

Among these, a particularly controversial one involves a potential romantic link between Doom and Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. This idea has not sat well with many.

In the comics, these two characters have had a history, sometimes pairing up for strategic reasons.

However, the notion of their romance in the MCU films has been met with disdain, especially considering fans’ attachment to RDJ’s previous on-screen relationship with Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts.

Adding to the complexity, the MCU’s landscape has shifted significantly after moving on from Jonathan Majors as Kang.

Kevin Feige and his team opted not to recast Kang but instead introduced Doom to lead into the next phase.

This change hints at a fresh narrative arc possibly involving Wanda, whose return seems imminent with the introduction of Wiccan.

While details about Doom’s backstory remain under wraps, his strategic role in the upcoming movies is clear.

How Marvel will navigate these waters without creating confusion remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: a segment of the audience finds the idea of Doom and Wanda as a couple quite unsettling.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set for a 2026 release, with ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ following in 2027. These releases are sure to bring answers, and possibly more controversies, as the MCU continues to evolve.
