In a surprising twist from Marvel, the latest promo for ‘Agatha All Along’ might have accidentally revealed the true identity of Aubrey Plaza’s character, Rio Vidal. The teaser showcases a scene where Agatha Harkness and her group use a ouija board in an attempt to contact a spirit, spelling out ‘D-E-A-T-H’. This intriguing scene has sparked theories about Plaza’s role, particularly since she hinted at a significant ‘reveal’ about her character.

Speculation is rife with fans suggesting Rio could be iconic figures like Mephisto, Morgan le Fay, or Blackheart. However, the leading theory is that she might be Lady Death, a character known in the comics for her interactions with mortals and her skull-faced appearance. Interestingly, in the series’ first episode, Rio wears a robe reminiscent of Death’s usual depiction when she confronts Agatha, adding fuel to these speculations.

The series, premiering on Disney+ on September 18 with its first two episodes, returns Kathryn Hahn in her role as Agatha Harkness. The show picks up with Agatha, powerless and entrapped by a spell, until a goth teen liberates her and convinces her to embark on the perilous Witches’ Road. This journey promises to restore a witch’s lost powers if they can survive its challenges. The duo, along with a hastily formed coven, venture into the unknown, facing numerous trials along the way.

The cast includes notable actors such as Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, and Paul Adelstein. Veterans like Debra Jo Rupp and Patti LuPone also join, alongside the talked-about Aubrey Plaza. Behind the scenes, Jac Schaeffer returns as showrunner and director, joined by directors Rachel Goldberg and Gandja Montiero, with Kevin Feige leading as one of the executive producers.

As fans, we’re on the edge of our seats, eager to see if Rio Vidal really is the embodiment of Death and how this will affect her dynamic with Agatha and the series’ storyline.
