Anthony Ramos Hypes Up His Role as The Hood in the New ‘Ironheart’ Series

Anthony Ramos is set to bring a fresh face to one of Marvel’s intriguing villains, Parker Robbins, also known as The Hood, in the upcoming Disney+ series ‘Ironheart’. He’s thrilled about the role and believes The Hood could be the coolest villain Marvel has ever introduced. The actor shares his excitement about the intense and dynamic clash between his character and Riri Williams, the protagonist of the series. He feels the buildup to their confrontation adds a thrilling layer to the narrative.

‘Ironheart’ is shaping up to be a standout addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), with the show slated for release on Disney+ in 2025. It’s part of Phase Five of the MCU. Created by Chinaka Hodge, the series revolves around MIT student Riri Williams, who crafts a suit of armor that rivals Iron Man’s, leading her back to her hometown of Chicago where she encounters new threats.

Dominique Thorne stars as Riri Williams, reprising her role from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’. The cast also includes notable names like Alden Ehrenreich, Lyric Ross, and Shea Couleé, along with Manny Montana and Anji White. The series promises an exciting blend of technology and adventure, peppered with mystical elements brought in by The Hood’s dark arts and magic.

The character of The Hood first appeared in Marvel comics back in 2002, created by Brian K. Vaughan along with artists Kyle Hotz and Eric Powell. Starting as a small-time criminal, Robbins’ life took a dark turn when he encountered a demon, whose mystical boots and hood he stole, gaining the powers of invisibility and levitation. He quickly rose to prominence within the criminal underworld in New York City.

We are eager to see how Ramos brings Robbins to life, especially since he describes the character as complex and a leader for the outcasts. The filming, which took place in locations including Atlanta and Chicago, wrapped up in early November, setting the stage for what promises to be a captivating series.

The show’s premise teases Riri dealing with mysterious dangers that test her mettle and genius, making it a compelling watch for us who have followed her journey from ‘Wakanda Forever’ to ‘Ironheart’. With a combination of magic, technology, and high-stakes rivalry, ‘Ironheart’ is gearing up to be a must-watch on our Marvel series list.
