Captain America’s Big Reveal: Mackie’s Slip or Clever Tease?

Anthony Mackie might have spilled some major details about the upcoming ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ While chatting with EW, he may have let slip that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk could make an appearance, even though only Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk has been officially confirmed so far. Mackie shifted his words mid-sentence, changing from ‘if’ to ‘when’ regarding Ruffalo’s Hulk, which has sparked quite the buzz about whether this was a genuine reveal or just Mackie being playful.

Interestingly, Ruffalo himself had hinted at joining the cast of ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ before backtracking on his statement. This isn’t the first time Marvel actors have teased fans; Tom Holland and even Mark Ruffalo have histories of revealing too much. Mackie teasing Holland for the same seems like a humorous nod to their shared tendency.

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is set to dive deep into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) lore, bringing back elements from the 2008 film ‘The Incredible Hulk.’ We’re expecting to see Tim Blake Nelson return as Samuel Stearns, who turns into the Leader, a key nemesis from the Hulk’s storyline. It’s been a long wait since Stearns’ transformation was teased in a post-credit scene 16 years ago.

The film is also set to tackle some unresolved stories from ‘The Eternals,’ particularly the giant Celestial emerging from the Pacific Ocean. This is the first time since ‘The Eternals’ that Marvel has woven these threads into another movie, which we’ve all been curious about.

In summary, Mackie’s comments have certainly stirred excitement and speculation among us about what to expect in ‘Brave New World.’ Whether these teases will come to fruition remains to be seen, but it’s clear that the MCU isn’t holding back on surprises.
