Channing Tatum shared his hopes for a standalone ‘Gambit’ movie at the West Hollywood premiere of ‘Blink Twice’. After a cameo in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, Tatum is eager to revive his role as the X-Men mutant. Despite past setbacks with a cancelled project by 20th Century Fox due to a merger with Disney, Tatum remains optimistic. He expressed his desire for a Gambit film, saying he’s been pushing for it for a decade. The decision now lies with Bob Iger and Kevin Feige at Marvel.

At the event, Tatum also expressed gratitude towards Ryan Reynolds for his role in reviving Gambit. On Instagram, he thanked Reynolds, noting that Reynolds fought for Tatum’s inclusion in the film and acknowledging the personal significance of the role. Tatum conveyed deep appreciation, mentioning that he might owe Reynolds forever.

Tatum also praised Shawn Levy, the director of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, calling him ‘a brilliant creator’. He expressed his joy and satisfaction with the film through an enthusiastic Instagram post, describing it as a ‘masterpiece’ and ‘pure bad ass joy’.

In addition to his cameo excitement, Tatum was at the DGA to promote ‘Blink Twice’, directed by first-timer Zoë Kravitz. In the film, Tatum plays a billionaire tech mogul who brings friends and several women to his private island, where the situation spirals out of control. The original title of the movie was ‘Pussy Island’, a name Tatum still prefers despite the change due to cultural sensitivities.

The premiere was also significant for Tatum and Kravitz, marking their red carpet debut as a couple. Kravitz acknowledged Tatum’s support during her introduction of the film.

Other cast members at the premiere included Naomi Ackie, Christian Slater, and Haley Joel Osment. The film, co-written by Kravitz and E.T. Feigenbaum, is set for release by Amazon MGM Studios on August 23.

As fans, we’re thrilled to see Tatum’s passion for Gambit and are hopeful that his dream will turn into reality. His continued enthusiasm for the role, combined with industry support, might just bring Gambit back to the big screen.
