Channing Tatum’s Gambit Makes a Surprise Return in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ New Video
In a surprising turn of events, a deleted scene from ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ reveals that Channing Tatum’s character, Gambit, has survived a major battle. This scene, shared by Ryan Reynolds on social media, shows Gambit spotting an inter-dimensional portal in his eye reflection, hinting at his potential return from a desolate wasteland. These portals, humorously dubbed ‘Marvel spark circles’ by Deadpool, could allow Gambit to travel through the multiverse.
Although it’s not yet confirmed if Gambit will continue in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this scene has certainly opened the door to that possibility. During his time with Fox’s Marvel movies, Tatum tried to launch a movie centered around Gambit, but it never came to fruition. The recent movie has given Tatum a platform to finally bring Gambit to life on the big screen.
Tatum expressed his ongoing desire to star in a standalone Gambit movie in an interview with Variety. He mentioned, ‘I’ve been saying I want it for the last 10 years. It’s in Bob Iger and Kevin Feige’s hands. I pray to God.’
Following the film’s successful box office debut, Tatum shared his emotions on social media about playing Gambit, stating, ‘I thought I had lost Gambit forever. But [Reynolds] fought for me and Gambit. I will owe him probably forever. Cause I’m not sure how I could ever do something that would be equal to what this has meant to me. I love ya buddy…I’m so grateful to be in this movie. It’s a masterpiece in my opinion. And just pure bad ass joy. I was literally screaming in the theater.’
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ also featured cameos from other popular characters like Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, Wesley Snipes’ Blade, and Chris Evans’ Johnny Storm, making it a star-studded affair.
