Dave Bautista’s Transformation Sparks Fan Concern: What’s Really Going On?
Recent photos of Dave Bautista have sparked a wave of concern among his fans. At 55, the former WWE star and Hollywood actor appeared dramatically different at a recent red carpet event, leading to speculation about his health and well-being.
Bautista, known for his towering presence in the wrestling ring and roles in major films like ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ has been busy in 2024. He starred in ‘Dune: Part Two’ earlier this year and featured in two new movies released in September: ‘The Killer’s Game’ and ‘The Last Showgirl,’ alongside Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis. It was at the premiere of ‘The Last Showgirl’ during the Toronto International Film Festival where the notable photos were taken.
Sporting a sleek black suit with a low-cut shirt that showcased his chest tattoos, Bautista paired his outfit with shiny black shoes, black sunglasses, and several pearl necklaces. The change that caught everyone’s eye was his noticeably slimmer physique compared to his wrestling days.
While some fans on social media praised his new look, calling him ‘Handsome as ever’ and ‘Looking good my brother,’ others were puzzled. Comments on X (formerly Twitter) contrasted his former bulky frame with his current leaner build, with one user asking, ‘Why do you look so small?’ Concerns were raised about whether this weight loss was for a film role or other reasons.
In his defense, a fan mentioned seeing him in person and confirmed that Bautista is ‘still a beast’ despite appearing thinner. Bautista himself has spoken about his weight loss journey. He embarked on an intense diet about a year and a half ago after completing the film ‘Knock at the Cabin’ by M. Night Shyamalan.
This isn’t the first time Bautista has transformed his body for his acting career. Since retiring from professional wrestling in 2019, he has taken his health and diet very seriously. In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Bautista shared that he’s at his lightest since he was 19 years old. He revealed that he previously weighed as much as 370lbs during his wrestling career, but for his latest role in ‘The Killer’s Game,’ he slimmed down to 240lbs.
Fans can rest assured that while Bautista looks different, his health seems to be a top priority for him, and his weight loss is part of his commitment to his evolving roles in Hollywood.
