Dave Filoni Talks About George Lucas’ Secret Star Wars Bible
It turns out that George Lucas has kept a secretive binder, filled with his original ideas and plans for Star Wars. This elusive document, often referred to as Lucasโ Star Wars bible, contains numerous concepts that didn’t make it into the final films. Interestingly, even Dave Filoni, a key figure in expanding the Star Wars universe, admitted back in 2011 during an interview with Den of the Geek that he hadnโt had a peek into this treasure trove of ideas.
Filoni, who was then promoting the DVD release of the third season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, discussed how the binder was packed with potential storylines and details that were overlooked in the original movies. He humorously mentioned that if anyone knew the intricacies of the universe, including the true identities of characters like Palpatine and Sidious, it would be Lucas himself.
We’re often left wondering about the extent of influence Lucas’ notes have on the current Star Wars projects under Disney. Given the secretive nature of the binder, only a select few might know its true contents.
Looking ahead, Filoni is set to direct a new Star Wars film. This project aims to tie up loose ends from series like The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka. Set in the era of the New Republic, this film promises to bring closure to various story arcs, potentially involving characters like Grand Admiral Thrawn and Moff Gideon, with the Hutts also trying to reclaim their power.
Star Wars fans can catch all these series on Disney+, where they bridge the gap between the rise of the New Republic and the emergence of the First Order. As we await Filoniโs film, the anticipation builds on how much of Lucasโ original vision will shape this new chapter in the Star Wars saga.
