Doctor Doom and Scarlet Witch Rumored to Join Forces in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Exciting buzz is building around ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ as rumors suggest a groundbreaking alliance between Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., and Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen.
The film promises not to introduce a variant but to continue with the original Scarlet Witch character.
Insider Grace Randolph, on Beyond The Trailer, shared insights on potential plot developments.
She mentioned that Wanda’s survival and her partnership with Doom were intended as major surprises.
However, plans have changed, moving away from the anticipated ‘Children’s Crusade’ storyline. Randolph expressed concerns about the focus shift and its impact on Marvel’s magical characters, indicating a possible underrepresentation of this fan-favorite element.
This revelation also casts doubt on the likelihood of a standalone ‘Young Avengers’ movie following the original plot, with Randolph suggesting a shift towards a Disney+ series for the young heroes.
The film’s plot will center on Doctor Doom’s attempt to save the multiverse by merging all universes into one under his rule at Battleworld. His intentions, although seemingly twisted, are driven by a desire to preserve all life.
Elizabeth Olsen has also voiced her enthusiasm about reprising her role as Wanda, emphasizing her willingness to return if her character can be effectively integrated into the storyline.
The Russo Brothers are set to direct and produce ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ under their AGBO banner, with Stephen McFeely on board as the writer. Filming is scheduled to start in March 2025.
The much-anticipated release of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is slated for May 1, 2026, followed by ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ on May 7, 2027. As Marvel concludes its Multiverse Saga, the stakes are higher than ever.
