‘Dread the Halls’ Brings Spooky Festivities to Image Comics This Christmas
Get ready for a chilling holiday season with Image Comics’ newest anthology, ‘Dread the Halls.‘ This holiday horror special is slated for release on December 4 and promises to deliver a blend of spookiness just in time for Christmas.
The comic book, published in collaboration with Syzygy Publishing, features four unique holiday-themed horror tales that are sure to keep us on the edge of our seats.
Jordan Hart and Chris Ryall have teamed up to create ‘Dread the Halls,’ drawing inspiration from the Victorian era’s tradition of sharing ghost stories by the fireplace on Christmas Eve.
They have crafted stories that mix the eerie with the festive in a way that’s perfect for anyone who finds themselves leaning a little towards Santa’s Naughty List—but don’t worry, Nice Listers looking for a thrill are welcome too!

The anthology includes ‘Northerners,’ a story by Hart with art by Walter Pax, where a monstrous creature wreaks havoc in a snowy setting.
Other artists like Jimmy Kucaj, Lee Ferguson, and Fabio Veras contribute their talents with stories titled ‘Krampus Hunters,’ ‘Gone Fishing,’ and ‘Dead Notes,’ respectively. Each artist brings a unique style that enhances the eerie atmosphere of the tales.
The creators have taken special care in selecting a team of artists whose distinct styles bring the chilling narratives to life.
Hart mentioned in an interview with CBR how essential it is for the visuals to complement the stories in a comic book, praising the artists for elevating the anthology beyond his expectations.
As the release date approaches, ‘Dread the Halls’ is available for pre-order. It features cardstock covers by artists like Maria the Wolf and Marguerite Sauvage, plus a wrapping-paper variant cover by Jordan Hart and a holiday homage cover by Lee Ferguson.
This collection is a must-have for fans of titles like ‘Creepshow’ and ‘Hello Darkness,’ as it beautifully blends the horror of Halloween with the cheer of Christmas. Don’t miss out on this festive fright fest!
