Dwayne Johnson Rumored For Apocalypse Role in the MCU

Dwayne Johnson, known for his role as Black Adam in DC’s universe, is rumored to be entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This time, the buzz is about him possibly taking on the role of the formidable X-Men villain, Apocalypse. Johnson, who recently returned to the WWE as a villain, seems to fit perfectly into the role of Apocalypse, given his current on-screen persona.

The rumor originated from the MyTimeToShineHello Twitter account, suggesting that Marvel Studios is eyeing Johnson for this iconic role. This could either be part of the upcoming X-Men reboot in the MCU or possibly for a variant character in one of the future Avengers movies. It’s interesting to see Johnson potentially switch from a hero to a more antagonistic role, aligning with his recent shift in the WWE.

Previously, Johnson was in the running to play Namor in ‘Black Panther 2’, but that role was eventually filled by Tenoch Huerta. Given recent controversies surrounding Huerta, there’s speculation whether Johnson might step in as a variant of Namor. Alternatively, could we see him as Gladiator from the Shi’ar Empire? It’s all up in the air!

What adds a layer to this rumor mill is Johnson’s past connections within the industry. He and Henry Cavill, who also has been linked to the MCU and is managed by Johnson’s former wife and business partner, have had their fair share of superhero limelight and managerial cross-paths.

After an attempt to reshape the DC universe, which didn’t pan out as planned, it seems Johnson might be setting his sights back on Marvel. Could this mean we’ll soon be seeing what Johnson is ‘cookin’ in the Marvel kitchen?

It’s an exciting thought, and many of us are eager to see if this rumor turns into reality. Johnson playing a villain could bring a fresh twist to his superhero persona, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds. What do you think about Johnson possibly joining the MCU as Apocalypse?
