Fan-Made Batgirl Trailer Featuring Jenna Ortega Captures Our Imagination

A new fan-made Batgirl movie trailer has captured our attention. It stars Jenna Ortega, known from her role in ‘Wednesday’, and has become a hit online, quickly racking up over a million views. The trailer was made by KH Studio and uses a mix of effects, AI technology, and sound design. It’s just for fun, not a teaser of any upcoming projects, as Ortega isn’t currently linked to any DC films.

The trailer places Batgirl in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), including appearances from JK Simmons as Jim Gordon and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. It’s interesting because the DCEU has wrapped up, and no new movies from the new DC Universe (DCU) have been released yet.

There was a Batgirl movie in the works before, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, and almost completed. Leslie Grace was set to star as Batgirl, with Michael Keaton reprising his role as Batman and Brendan Fraser playing the villain Firefly. However, the project was unexpectedly dropped by Warner Bros. Discovery for tax reasons and is unlikely to be released. The decision was tough, and Peter Safran, co-CEO of DC Studios, mentioned last year that pulling the plug was a difficult but necessary choice due to the film’s quality.

This new trailer has reignited conversations among us, sparking rumors and hopes, even though it’s not official. It shows how much we’re still eager for a Batgirl movie and how creative fans can be in filling the gaps while we wait for more superhero action.
