Fans Discovered That One Actor Had 4 Different Roles in the MCU

We’ve just noticed something pretty cool: Nathan Fillion has portrayed four distinct characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That’s right, the same actor, across different movies, slipping into multiple roles almost unnoticed.

Most recently, Fillion lent his voice to ‘Headpool‘ in the blockbuster ‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘. This film not only marked a significant box office success but also celebrated the integration of Deadpool into the MCU, with Hugh Jackman reprising his beloved role as Wolverine.

But Fillion’s involvement with Marvel doesn’t start there. He first appeared in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘. In a memorable scene, he played a monstrous alien who clashed with Star-Lord in prison, only to be shut down by Rocket and Groot. His role was brief but memorable.

His journey continued with the sequel to ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘. Here, Fillion appeared in a deleted scene as Simon Williams, an actor within the movie’s universe, who is destined to become Wonder Man. Although Fillion didn’t continue to play Wonder Manโ€”Yahya Abdul-Mateen II took over that mantle for an upcoming Disney+ releaseโ€”it was a fun cameo that connected him further to the expansive galaxy.

In the third installment of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘, Fillion’s presence was felt again, this time in a more substantial role as Master Karja. He worked closely with The High Evolutionary, adding layers to the evolving plot of the series.

It’s quite a tally for Fillion, who may not have reached Stan Lee’s record of cameos but certainly shows a diverse range of characters. While it’s uncertain if we’ll see him again in another Marvel role, with James Gunn moving to DC and taking on projects like the recent Superman film, perhaps Fillion will pop up in a DC movie next.

We often miss these fun facts unless someone points them out. It’s a little trivia that makes rewatching these films even more enjoyable, spotting Nathan Fillion in each of his roles. Keep an eye out next time you dive into the MCU!
