Known for her current work on Uncanny X-Men, Simone’s poll aimed to settle the age-old question of which character is stronger, especially when stripped of weapons and relying purely on physical prowess.

The debate centered on a scenario where both Batman, the iconic Gotham City vigilante, and Conan, the legendary fantasy warrior, face off without any of their usual gear. This means no utility belts or swords—just hand-to-hand combat. Batman, standing at 6’2” and weighing 210 lb, holds a slight edge in both height and weight over Conan, who measures 6’ and 180 lb. This size difference gives Batman a reach and weight class advantage, potentially increasing his punching power. That said, Marvel fandom sees him at 6′4″ and 265 lbs, which would give him an advantage.

Despite Batman’s training in numerous martial arts, the poll results were tight, indicating a nearly split opinion among fans. Batman emerged as the winner, but only by a narrow margin. This outcome surprised many, as Conan is often celebrated for his raw strength and brutal combat style, honed from a life of survival in harsh environments.

Our friend Ashley Land from ScreenRant shares a unique take on the matter. She argues that while Batman’s disciplined approach and tactical mindset are impressive, they might not be enough against Conan’s sheer ferocity and instinctual fighting.

Conan’s upbringing in a world of constant danger makes him a formidable opponent who could likely overpower the more methodical Batman. According to Land, Conan’s ability to fight with lethal intent could be the deciding factor in a real brawl between the two.

This debate highlights an interesting clash of styles: Batman’s calculated and highly trained techniques versus Conan’s spontaneous and savage methods. Each has his strengths, making them both revered characters in their respective universes.

But in a fight to the end, many of us wonder if Batman’s gadgets and strategy could really stand up to Conan’s raw, unbridled power. It seems this discussion might continue to be a favorite among fans for years to come.
