FilmSharks Secures Distribution for Lucia Puenzo’s Thriller ‘Electrophilia’ and Spanish Sci-Fi Film ‘Pacifico’ at AFM
According to Deadline, FilmSharks, based in Buenos Aires, recently finalized agreements for their AFM showcase films ‘Electrophilia’ and ‘Pacifico’.
The thriller ‘Electrophilia‘ has secured a deal with Busch Media for the German-speaking rights. Directed by Emmy winner Lucia Puenzo and produced by Mark Johnson, known for ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘Electrophilia’ explores the life of Ada.
After being struck by lightning, Ada undergoes a profound change both physically and psychologically. Joining other lightning survivors, she discovers the irreversible path to electrophilia.
The film features performances by Mariana Di Girolamo, German Palacios, Guillermo Pfening, and Osmar Nuñez.
On the other hand, ‘Pacifico‘, a sci-fi adventure film directed by Gonzalo Gutierrez, has been sold to Slendid Films for German-speaking Europe and to Nashe Kino for Russia, CIS, and the Baltics, with a release scheduled for 2025.

‘Pacifico’ is still in post-production and will have its market premiere next year. The movie takes viewers on a thrilling journey with a group of young travelers stranded on a mysterious Pacific island, battling an ancient evil force.
The cast includes a vibrant Latin American group with Manolo Cardona, Ricardo Abarca, Christopher Von Uckermann, Claudio Cataño, and Maria Nela Sinisterra.
Guido Rud, the owner of FilmSharks, praised ‘Pacifico’ as a complex and unique project, highlighting that it includes high-level assets typically seen in major US studio films.
He added, “It’s total madness, all US studios and OTT’s are after this film for multi-territory rights.”
Further deals for ‘Electrophilia’ include Netflix acquiring SVOD rights for Latin America, AT Entertainment taking all rights in Japan, and distribution agreements in Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil through Moving Pictures, Alebrije, and Estacao Esperanca, respectively.
