At this year’s New York Comic Con, DC Comics introduced exciting developments under their “All In” initiative, focusing on the new Absolute Universe. The team behind ‘Absolute Batman,’ including Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta, shared insights into their work and the positive feedback from fans on their first issue. They highlighted Frank Martin’s vibrant color work that brings a fresh look to Batman.

In a surprising reveal, artwork from the upcoming ‘Absolute Batman #2‘ was shown, featuring an enormous new Batmobile, matching the massive scale of Batman’s adventures in Gotham City. It’s a bold design that fits the character’s robust approach to crime-fighting.

Adding to the excitement, Deniz Camp and Javier Rodríguez are set to debut in the Absolute series with ‘Absolute Martian Manhunter.’ This series will join others like ‘Absolute Green Lantern’ and ‘Absolute Flash,’ scheduled for release in 2025. Camp’s fresh take on the enigmatic Martian Manhunter promises to add a unique twist to the character.

Snyder expressed that the Absolute and main DC universes would run parallel for a while, allowing both to develop independently before intersecting. This strategy aims to blend traditional superhero narratives with a newer, more unpredictable approach.

The overarching narrative is planned to culminate in a confrontation with Darkseid, who is evolving into a more threatening presence. This storyline will eventually require heroes from both universes to unite against him.

Check out the sneak peeks of both ‘Absolute Batman’ and ‘Absolute Martian Manhunter’ as they prepare to take on new challenges in this creatively bold initiative by DC Comics.
