Get Ready for a Trip Back in Time with ‘The Boys’ Prequel ‘Vought Rising’

Prime Video is set to expand ‘The Boys’ universe with a thrilling new prequel series titled ‘Vought Rising.’ Stars Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash from the hit superhero series will not only lead the cast but also serve as producers. They’ll be reprising their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, taking us deep into the murky origins of the Vought corporation.

The announcement, brought by Deadline, is slated to make a splash at The Boys Comic-Con panel, with Ackles sharing the news in person and Cash joining via video. This is shaping up to be one of the most exciting reveals at the convention.

‘Vought Rising’ will dive into the 1950s, exploring the early days of Vought through a twisted murder mystery. We’ll follow the initial exploits of Soldier Boy, the first non-aging American Supe, and the cunning actions of Stormfront, back then known as Clara Vought. The series promises to mix dark secrets with the gritty violence and intrigue that fans of ‘The Boys’ love.

The show is a creation of the minds behind the original series, with Eric Kripke leading as the developer and showrunner, and Paul Grellong as the executive producer. Their team is excited to deliver another wild ride that promises to both fascinate and disturb.

Alongside Kripke and Grellong, the series boasts an impressive production team including Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and others from Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios. They’re all set to bring this grisly saga to life, promising a story soaked in blood and the infamous Compound V.

The narrative of ‘Vought Rising’ ties in closely with the characters’ backstories from the main series. Soldier Boy was created during World War II by Frederick Vought, and Stormfront, his first successful Compound V subject, eventually became his wife. Jensen Ackles is carving out a unique position for himself, simultaneously leading another major series, ‘Countdown,’ also on Prime Video. His involvement with ‘The Boys’ was strategically planned, allowing him to juggle both projects effectively.
