Gina Carano Claims She Was Forced Through Trans ‘Reeducation’ Camp Before Star Wars Exit

Gina Carano, once celebrated for her role as Cara Dune in ‘The Mandalorian,’ saw her trajectory with Disney alter dramatically following her controversial social media statements. Originally slated for a standalone series, her comparison of anti-vaxxers to Jews and other divisive comments did not align with Disney’s image, leading to a shift in their plans.

Her troubles escalated when she refrained from adding pronouns to her social media, instead inserting ‘boop/bop/beep,’ which she clarified was meant to emulate R2-D2’s sounds, not to mock the trans community. This led to a mandatory discussion via Zoom with transgender representatives, which Carano described in her interview with The Hollywood Reporter as both enjoyable and enlightening.

Disney’s subsequent demand for an apology resulted in several drafts, none of which met their criteria for remorse, leading them to drop the apology approach in favor of media training. This training emphasized the emotional impact of her statements over their logical substance.

Pedro Pascal, her co-star, suggested she could ease tensions by publicly supporting trans rights, advice she chose not to follow, adhering to her personal expression style. Her refusal to participate in a larger meeting with Disney and Lucasfilm’s LGBTQ group further strained relations, culminating in her departure from the franchise.

Following her dismissal, Carano contacted Elon Musk, who is financing her lawsuit against Disney. Musk’s support stems from his advocacy for free speech and his own disputes with Disney, as detailed by The Hollywood Reporter. He offers legal support to anyone he believes has been unfairly dismissed over their online activities.
