How ‘The Acolyte’ Sets Up Season 2

‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ just wrapped up its first season, leaving us hanging with several unresolved plot threads. Set during the High Republic era, this is the first live-action series from that timeline. We met a diverse group of characters, with the story centered around the enigmatic duo Osha and Mae, played by Amandla Stenberg.

Although a second season hasn’t been officially confirmed, it’s clear we’re eager for more. The finale laid the groundwork for what could be an exciting continuation. Spoiler alert if you haven’t seen the last episode yet!

In the closing moments of the season, we see Osha and Qimir, portrayed by Manny Jacinto, joining forces. Osha is now fully embracing the Dark Side after the shocking murder of her former Jedi master, Sol, played by Lee Jung-jae. It looks like Qimir could be a key player moving forward, potentially as an apprentice to Darth Plagueis, who we learn is hiding on Qimir’s island planet. This connection might dive deeper into the complex cloning plots we’ve seen across the Star Wars saga.

There’s also a lot to unpack with the Jedi, particularly with Vernestra Rwoh (Rebecca Henderson) and the political turmoil involving the Senate. They’re covering up Sol’s death and dealing with a complex murder mystery. With Mae now having lost her memories of Osha, there’s potential for a new storyline where Vernestra might try to shape Mae into a Jedi, echoing past attempts with Osha.

And let’s not forget the surprise appearance of Yoda in the final scene. His involvement could mean big things for the next season, especially considering his history with similar conflicts in the original films.

The first season was a dark journey into a string of mysterious crimes, pitting a Jedi master against his former apprentice. The deeper they dug, the darker their discoveries became, exposing them to unimaginable evils.

With such an intense setup for a future season, we can’t wait to see where ‘The Acolyte’ takes us next. Let’s hope the creators keep the momentum going and deliver another thrilling chapter in this Star Wars adventure.
