Jonathan Majors shared his disappointment with TMZ following Marvel’s recent decision to focus on Robert Downey Jr. as the franchise’s new antagonist, shifting away from Majors’ portrayal of Kang the Conqueror.
In a recent encounter in West Hollywood, Majors disclosed his mixed feelings about the introduction of Dr. Doom, played by RDJ, into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He admitted that while the inclusion of Dr. Doom is exciting, he was saddened by the sidelining of his character, Kang, whom he thoroughly enjoyed playing.
The change in direction by Marvel has sparked discussions among us, especially considering Majors’ situation. He was found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment but did not receive jail time. He even served jail time but was fully pardoned in 2015 by then-California Governor Jerry Brown. Similarly, Ezra Miller, known for playing The Flash in the DC Extended Universe, kept his role despite facing several serious allegations in recent years.
When asked about the apparent discrepancy in how he’s being treated compared to other actors like Ezra Miller and RDJ, Majors chose not to comment directly but his expression spoke volumes.
