Karen Fukuhara Wants Kimiko to Kill Homelander Like Arya Stark Killed the Night King

In an exciting conversation on a Podcast I’ve Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario, Karen Fukuhara shared her thoughts on what she would love to see in the fifth season of Amazon’s hit series, The Boys. Karen, who plays the tough and resilient Kimiko, hinted at an epic showdown she hopes to see: Kimiko taking on Homelander.

Karen drew a parallel to the unforgettable moment in Game of Thrones when Arya Stark defeated the Night King. She thinks it would be incredible for Kimiko to have a similar moment of triumph by taking down Homelander.

‘It would be so cool, like Arya Stark taking down the Night King, for Kimiko to be the one to take down Homelander,’ she said with excitement. However, she also acknowledged the risks involved, considering Homelander’s immense power.

Karen’s role as Kimiko is special for many reasons. She portrays a character who is mute, relying on powerful non-verbal communication to express her emotions. This unique aspect of her character has resonated deeply with viewers.

Reflecting on her journey, Karen shared how she initially found the non-verbal role challenging. ‘I love playing this character so much. But when I first got the email for my audition, I was a little confused because there was no real dialogue from my end,’ she explained. Despite the confusion, she trusted the project, knowing that with Seth Rogen’s involvement, it would be done well.

Karen also touched on the emotional aspects of the role. ‘I wanted to get it right because I feel like it was four seasons of work culminating into this moment,’ she said, referring to Kimiko’s journey and the impactful scenes leading up to her potential battle with Homelander.

The Boys has captivated millions with its bold commentary on social and political issues. Karen appreciates this aspect of the show, noting, ‘I love all the social commentary that my show makes. It’s kind of amazing because it doesn’t poke fun at just one political party. It kind of pokes fun at everyone in a clever way.’
