Kiana Madeira Eyes a Magical Role in DC’s Expanding Universe
Kiana Madeira, a Canadian actress, has expressed her interest in playing Zatanna in James Gunn’s growing DC Universe (DCU). With the DCU still in its early stages and much anticipation around what Gunn will bring to the table, the buzz around casting choices is heating up. Madeira, known for her roles in Netflix’s Trinkets and the Fear Street trilogy, is now throwing her hat in the ring for the role of the famed DC Comics magician.
Zatanna Zatara, created by Gardner Fox and Murphy Anderson, is a cornerstone of DC Comics, first appearing in Hawkman #4 in November 1964. As the daughter of magician Zatara, she is part of the homo magi race, humans with inherent magical abilities. Zatanna is not only a professional illusionist but also a mystic superhero, tackling malevolent forces with her vast knowledge of the arcane arts. Her skills make her comparable to characters like John Constantine.
