Major Casting Rumor Hints at Young Franklin Richards’ Role in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Exciting news has emerged about ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, with recent whispers in the industry pointing towards a surprising development for the Fantastic Four family.
It seems that Franklin Richards, the son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, isn’t just making his debut in ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ but will also play a crucial role in the upcoming Avengers film.
The project, according to insider Daniel Richtman, is looking for actors aged between 10-13 to portray Franklin.
Interestingly, though he’s pegged to be a toddler around 3-4 years old in the Fantastic Four film, his presence in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is expected to be far more impactful.
Fans of the Fantastic Four comics might recall Franklin Richards as a reality-warping mutant who can manipulate his age, a trait that could bring a unique twist to the movie’s narrative.
This isn’t the first time Franklin’s powers have taken center stage in the comics. Previously, after aging himself into an adult to harness his psionic powers more effectively, Franklin realized he lacked the emotional maturity of an adult and reverted to his child form. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ might explore similar themes but with fresh twists to fit the cinematic narrative.
Previous rumors have also suggested a plotline involving Galactus and the Silver Surfer, where Franklin becomes a pivotal figure.
While the storyline might not directly follow the ‘Earth X’ arc, where Franklin transforms into the new Galactus, indications are that he could evolve into an almost divine entity to defend or even restore the Multiverse.
The Russo brothers, acclaimed for their work on several major MCU blockbusters like ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’, are set to direct both ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, slated for release in May 2026 and May 2027, respectively.
Their return to the MCU was confirmed at SDCC, where they expressed their excitement about reconnecting with Marvel’s creative team and the audience through these new, adventurous narratives.
