Manny Jacinto, known for his role as the Stranger in ‘The Acolyte,’ shared insights into his character’s journey and hinted at a potential romantic storyline with Osha, played by Amandla Stenberg. As season one wrapped up, fans were left pondering the future of this master-apprentice duo. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Jacinto teased that their relationship might take a romantic turn.

In the finale, the Stranger was central to several key events, including witnessing the defeat of Master Sol by Lee Jung-jae and finding a promising apprentice in Osha. Jacinto’s portrayal of the Stranger displayed a complex mix of power and vulnerability, especially in his interactions with Osha.

When discussing the dramatic final scenes, Jacinto explained a subtle but significant moment where he chose to physically connect with Osha, suggesting a deeper bond. ‘I thought, wouldn’t it be cool if I reached over and wrapped my hand around hers?’ he recalled. This gesture made it into the final cut, fueling speculation about their evolving relationship.

Jacinto also shared the physical challenges of his role, especially during intense fight scenes and a particularly chilling skinny dipping stunt. Despite the cold, he was determined to perform the stunt himself, enduring the freezing temperatures to bring authenticity to his scenes.

Looking ahead, Jacinto is hopeful for a second season, where he can explore the intricate layers of the Stranger’s past and his dynamic with Vernestra, his former mentor. ‘There’s a story there that we’ve only just begun to uncover,’ he noted.
