Marvel Cancels Its Only TV Show with Perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes Score
Marvel Studios is usually hesitant to officially end their shows, often opting to label them as ‘limited series.’ However, in a surprising turn of events, the much-admired ‘Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur‘ will not return for a third season. This decision is notable considering the show’s stellar 100% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
Storyboard artist Gabi Rode has revealed that Disney staff have known about the show’s discontinuation for some time. Rode disclosed that the area where ‘Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur’ was produced had been empty for over a year. The decision to not continue the series was made long ago but has only recently become public knowledge.
The animated series follows 13-year-old Lunella Lafayette in New York City. Lunella, who shares many qualities with Shuri from ‘Black Panther,’ teams up with Devil Dinosaur after he comes through a mysterious portal. Together, they take on a variety of quirky villains, adding a unique element to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and linking back to the renowned Avengers.
The voice cast includes notable talents such as Diamond White as Lunella and Fred Tatasciore as Devil Dinosaur. The series also features Alison Brie, Jennifer Hudson, Maya Hawke, Daveed Diggs, and Wesley Snipes. Laurence Fishburne voices Ben Foster, connecting the animated stories to the live-action ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp.’
While the series is ending, fans can look forward to the final 10 episodes set to air in early 2025. These episodes are crafted to wrap up the story in a satisfying manner, ensuring no loose ends are left. This conclusion will hopefully provide a fitting finale to a series that has captured the hearts of both young viewers and critics alike.
