Marvel Fans Criticize The Avengers’ Rumored New Leader in MCU
There’s a lot of talk about a new leader for The Avengers, and not everyone seems happy about it. Traditionally, Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, has been seen as the leader, with some arguing that Tony Stark, or Iron Man, could claim that title as well. Both characters had their final appearances in the 2019 movie ‘Avengers: Endgame’, where Rogers went back in time to live out his days with Peggy Carter, and Stark sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos.
Since ‘Endgame’, there have been a few MCU movies, but no new leader has been officially named. However, ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ hinted that Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, might take up the mantle. Parker has shown leadership qualities in the MCU and has previous experience leading a team in both comics and an animated series.
There’s talk that Parker might be facing off against new threats in the galaxy, initially thought to be led by Kang the Conqueror. But due to recent allegations against actor Jonathan Majors, who was set to portray Kang, the storyline might see some changes.
A tweet from the entertainment reporter MyTimeToShineH hinted at Holland’s leading role in the upcoming ‘Kang Dynasty’, and it got a mixed reaction. Some fans think Anthony Mackie would be a better fit, while others are strongly against Parker leading. I’m personally excited about the idea of Spider-Man stepping up as the leader.
There’s no confirmed date yet for ‘Spider-Man 4’, but it’s expected in the next few years, and hopefully, it will clear up many of our questions.
This development has certainly stirred up a lot of feelings, and it’s clear we all have different hopes for the future of The Avengers. Let’s keep the conversation going and see where this leads.
