Marvel recently shared exciting news about the return of Wolverine, reviving the iconic character in a fresh way. With the success of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ it’s thrilling to see Wolverine, traditionally portrayed by Hugh Jackman, coming back with a twist in the Marvel Universe. The announcement that Laura Kinney will take over as Wolverine has generated a wave of enthusiasm among Marvel fans.

Writer Erica Schultz is behind the new ongoing comic series titled ‘Laura Kinney: Wolverine,’ set to launch this December. The narrative follows Laura, the daughter of Logan, as she navigates the dark edges of the Marvel world, championing the rights of mutants and battling those who misuse their powers. The series promises high-stakes action and deep dives into mutantkind’s struggles.

A Fresh Take on a Beloved Character

Laura Kinney, known as X-23, was originally created as an assassin, cloned from Wolverine’s DNA by the Facility. Despite her harsh upbringing under the brutal supervision of her handler, Kimura, Laura found a semblance of kindness with Sarah Kinney, the scientist who used her own DNA in the cloning process and acted as Laura’s surrogate mother. After Sarah’s tragic death, Laura escaped the Facility and sought out Wolverine, who helped her realize her potential beyond being a weapon.

Her journey led her to the X-Mansion, where she embraced her new role among the mutants. Laura became a member of the X-Men, trained with X-Force, attended Avengers Academy, and joined various X-Men teams.

Embracing the codename Wolverine in honor of her father, Laura also formed a close bond with her sister Gabby, further enriching her story within the mutant community.

With Dafne Keen reprising her role as Laura in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ Laura Kinney’s Wolverine is not just a passing chapter but a promising new saga for fans and newcomers alike.

As we anticipate the December release of ‘Laura Kinney: Wolverine #1,’ the buzz around this new chapter in the Wolverine legacy is palpable, hinting at a dynamic future for this beloved character.
