Excitement is building for the MCU’s upcoming ‘X-Men’ reboot, which is set to reintroduce the beloved mutant team into the vast Marvel Cinematic Universe. This fresh start, previously under Fox’s domain, promises to mix humor with drama while showcasing some mutants who haven’t been seen on the big screen before.

The screenplay for this highly anticipated reboot is in the capable hands of Michael Lesslie, known for his work on ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’. His experience makes him an ideal choice to pen the script.

Insider Daniel Richtman recently shared that Lesslie has suggested including the entire team from the animated series ‘X-Men ’97’. If this lineup is approved, we could see favorites like Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, Jean Grey, Beast, Gambit, Jubilee, Professor X, Morph, Bishop, Magneto, Nightcrawler, and Sunspot. This choice seems to tap into the nostalgia and success of the animated series, which not only received glowing reviews but also secured a renewal for a second season before the first even premiered. Talks of a third season are already underway.

However, not everyone is thrilled with the return of the ’90s X-Men squad. Some viewers are disappointed, particularly because Jubilee seems to be stepping in for Kitty Pryde. This change has sparked some debates among the fanbase.

As the studio prepares to blend old and new elements for the X-Men’s grand entrance into the MCU, it’s clear that Lesslie is looking to draw on the charm and familiarity of the animated series to win over both longtime fans and newcomers. With such a dynamic and diverse team proposed, the reboot could very well breathe new life into the storied franchise.
