Mike Colter Teases Possible Return to Marvel’s Heroic Lineup

Mike Colter, known for his role as Luke Cage, has shown a change of heart about returning to Marvel. Initially hesitant, Colterโ€™s view shifted after seeing the revival of Daredevil in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’.

He appreciated the showโ€™s approach and mentioned, ‘I would love to explore it, if they found some story, some way, somewhere, to take it.’ He praised Charlie Cox’s return as Daredevil, reflecting on the showโ€™s success.

Earlier, Colter was less interested in revisiting his role as Luke Cage. He had stated that he doesnโ€™t think much about returning unless someone brings it up. He enjoyed his time as Luke Cage but was looking forward and was open to others taking on the role.

Colter first portrayed Luke Cage in ‘Jessica Jones’ and then in his own series for two seasons, followed by ‘The Defenders’. Despite some controversial decisions in the second season of ‘Luke Cage’, his portrayal was well-received, ending with his character becoming Harlem’s new crime boss.

Marvel Studios has retrieved the rights to characters from the Netflix shows, with ‘Daredevil’ receiving a lot of attention. Although rumors persist about Krysten Ritter returning as Jessica Jones, thereโ€™s no confirmation, and characters like Luke Cage and Iron Fist seem to remain sidelined.

Itโ€™s unclear if Colter will reappear as Luke Cage in future Marvel projects like ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ season 2. Marvel might reboot these characters after ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, possibly with new actors. An upcoming Marvel project, ‘Eyes of Wakanda’, will introduce a new Iron Fist but not with Colter.

As for now, Colter keeps busy with other roles and remains open to future discussions with Marvel if an interesting story comes up. We might still see him return as Harlemโ€™s hero, depending on Marvelโ€™s plans.
