Mr. Terrific Plays with Krypto the Superdog on the Set of ‘Superman’

Filming is ongoing in Cleveland for James Gunn’s latest Superman movie. Recently, a new set video surfaced showing Edi Gathegi, who plays Mr. Terrific, acting rather oddly. He seems to be interacting with an unseen character, leading many to speculate about a CGI presence in the film. Given Gathegi’s actions and a box of Milk Bone dog treats spotted in his hands, it’s likely Krypto, Superman’s faithful dog, is part of the story.

The latest Superman project won’t hit theaters until July 2025, but excitement is already building. James Gunn shared a few details earlier, marking the start of shooting on a unique date—February 29, coincidentally matching Superman’s birthday. Originally titled ‘Superman: Legacy,’ the final script was renamed simply to ‘SUPERMAN.’

The star-studded cast includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Nathan Fillion will appear as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, with Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho. Additional roles feature Sara Sampaio as Lex’s assistant and lover, Eve Teschmacher, while Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell are set to play Ma and Pa Kent. There’s also buzz about Milly Alcock potentially debuting as Supergirl.

In the video, David Corenswet’s Superman is noticeably absent, possibly captured by other characters such as Rick Flag and the Engineer. How all these characters will intertwine with Superman’s story remains a mystery. Gunn has hinted that the film will explore Superman’s dual identity as both a superhero and Clark Kent.

As we await more updates, the excitement around these possible character dynamics and CGI surprises keeps us guessing what James Gunn has in store for us next. Check out the video for yourself and share your thoughts on who Mr. Terrific might really be interacting with on the streets of Cleveland!
