Natasha Lyonne Joins Marvel’s ‘The Fantastic Four’

Natasha Lyonne is set to join Marvel’s ‘The Fantastic Four’ according to Deadline. Lyonne is best known for her roles in ‘Poker Face’, ‘Russian Doll’, and ‘Orange is the New Black’. Details about her character are being kept secret, but she’s joining a strong cast.

Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic. Vanessa Kirby is Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman. Joseph Quinn will be Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is Ben Grimm, the Thing. Julia Garner will portray Shalla-Bal, a version of the Silver Surfer. Ralph Ineson is set to play the villain, Galactus. We also have Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich in the film, but their roles are still unknown.

The movie will be set in the 1960s and will show the team facing off against Galactus. ‘The Fantastic Four’ will be directed by Matt Shakman, known for ‘WandaVision’, with a script by Jeff Kaplan, Ian Springer, Eric Pearson, and Josh Friedman. Peter Cameron also contributed to the script. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is producing, along with Nick Pepin and Grant Curtis.

This isn’t Lyonne’s first superhero role. She voiced Merton in the DC animated film ‘DC League of Super-Pets’. Merton, with super speed, becomes Flash’s pet. But this is her first time in a live-action superhero movie in the MCU. ‘League of Super-Pets’ was well-received, with an 88% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Lyonne has had a diverse career. She appeared in classic 90s films like ‘Dennis the Menace’ and ‘American Pie’. She became widely known for her role as Nicky Nichols in ‘Orange is the New Black’, earning an Emmy nomination. She also created and starred in ‘Russian Doll’, receiving critical acclaim and several Emmy nominations. Recently, she starred in ‘Poker Face’, which was renewed for a second season in 2023.

‘The Fantastic Four’ will be released in theaters on July 25, 2025.
