Netflix has officially launched the marketing campaign for the second season of its live-action ‘One Piece’ adaptation, confirming a global release date of December 25, 2025. The announcement was accompanied by a full-length trailer released on Monday morning, which accumulated 14.2 million views across YouTube and X (formerly Twitter) within the first three hours. The footage provides the first comprehensive look at the Alabasta Saga, showcasing the crewโ€™s arrival at the Grand Line and introducing the antagonistic organization Baroque Works.

The trailer confirms the expansive scope of the new season, which features extensive location work filmed at the Cape Town Film Studios in South Africa earlier this year. Production insiders indicate that the budget per episode has increased to approximately $19.5 million, a 15% hike from the first season, to accommodate the complex visual effects required for the Logia-type devil fruit powers shown in the teaser. Notable reveals include the first on-screen appearance of Joe Manganiello as the crime syndicate leader Sir Crocodile and Charithra Chandran as Princess Vivi, both of whom feature prominently in the two-minute clip.

Showrunner Matt Owens verified in a companion press statement that the season will consist of ten episodes, up from the previous eight, to properly adapt the dense narrative arc spanning from Loguetown to the desert kingdom of Alabasta. To support the holiday release, Netflix is partnering with massive retail chains for a merchandise push starting December 1. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the original manga, released a handwritten letter alongside the trailer, assuring fans that no compromises were made regarding the scale of the climactic battles, stating that the “heat of the desert” was captured authentically by the production team.
