Netflix has committed to a major expansion of Korean programming with the announcement of 33 new series and films set for 2026. The lineup spans multiple genres and features prominent K-stars alongside established franchises. Executives highlighted the global success of Korean content as a driving factor behind the investment.

The slate includes ‘Boyfriend on Demand,’ a romantic comedy starring Blackpink member Jisoo in her acting lead role. Superhero drama ‘The Wonderfools’ pairs Park Eun-bin and Cha Eun-woo. Prestige film ‘Possible Love’ comes from director Lee Chang-dong.

Action-fantasy series ‘The East Palace’ stars Nam Joo-hyuk as a royal confronting a curse in the Joseon court. Period romance ‘The Scandal’ features Son Ye-jin and Ji Chang-wook exploring forbidden desire in historical Korea. ‘Tantara’ unites Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo in a story set within the Korean entertainment industry of the 1960s and 1980s.

The project is written by Noh Hee-gyoung, creator of ‘Our Blues.’ It is directed by Lee Yoon-jung of ‘Coffee Prince.’ Returning unscripted series include new seasons of ‘Singles Inferno,’ ‘Culinary Class Wars,’ and ‘The Devilโ€™s Plan.’

Scripted sequels feature ‘Bloodhounds’ season two and ‘Mission: Cross 2.’ The diverse offerings cover historical drama, romance, competition formats, and action. Don Kang, Netflixโ€™s Korean content lead, noted the platform’s track record.

Kang stated that over the past five years, more than 210 Korean titles have ranked in the global top 10. The announcement underscores Netflix’s strategic focus on Korean productions. The full slate positions the service to maintain momentum in international streaming content.
