Oscar Isaac Gears Up for More Moon Knight Action!
Oscar Isaac isn’t done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet. He’s set to bring Marc Spector, also known as Moon Knight, back to life in Marvel’s animated series ‘What If…?’. This time, he’ll be lending his voice to the character. Brad Winderbaum, who heads Marvel Animation, shared this exciting update during the D23 panel on Saturday. However, the specifics of Spector’s role or the number of episodes he’ll feature in remain under wraps.
Previously, Isaac has portrayed Moon Knight in just one season of the Disney+ series titled after the character. Since the show’s debut, he has been vocal about wanting to reprise this role.
In a 2022 interview with ComicBook, following the premiere of ‘Moon Knight’, Isaac revealed that discussions about his return to a Marvel Studios project were ongoing but still in the early stages. ‘There have been some specific conversations,’ Isaac said. He was promoting his new graphic novel, ‘Head Wounds: Sparrow’ at the time. ‘They were pleasant, but right now, there are no details to share. We’re talking about it, though.’
Fast forward to this year, and Isaac’s enthusiasm hasn’t waned. At the Middle East Film and Comic Con, he expressed a keen interest in seeing Moon Knight join the Midnight Sons, a team known for its supernatural elements in the Marvel universe. ‘I think it’s an exciting possibility,’ Isaac mentioned, reflecting on the potential to explore new dynamics within a team setting now that fans are familiar with Marc, Steven, and Jake โ the three personas of Moon Knight.
Marvel Studios has a packed schedule coming up with major releases like ‘Captain America: Brave New World’, ‘Thunderbolts’, ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’, ‘Blade’, and two Avengers movies titled ‘Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’ set for release between February 2025 and May 2027.
On the television front, Marvel isn’t slowing down either. ‘Agatha All Along’ is set to premiere on Disney+ this September, followed by ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ in March. Meanwhile, Marvel Animation is preparing for the second season of ‘X-Men ’97’ and the debut of ‘Black Panther: Eyes of Wakanda’, though release dates for these are still pending.
As a fan, I can’t help but feel excited about all these developments. It seems like we have a lot of thrilling content to look forward to from Marvel, both on the big screen and the smaller ones. And with Isaac’s return as Moon Knight, it seems the best is yet to come!
