Paramount+ has become the exclusive streaming destination for all animated content from Avatar Studios, marking a major shift in the franchise’s expansion strategy.

The upcoming animated film ‘The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender’ will premiere directly on Paramount+ in fall 2026, abandoning its previous theatrical release slot scheduled for October 9, 2026.

This film follows an adult Aang who discovers an ancient power capable of preserving Airbender culture from extinction.

Aang teams up with older versions of Katara, Sokka, and Toph on a global quest to secure the power before it disrupts the hard-won peace.

The voice cast includes Eric Nam as Aang, Jessica Matten as Katara, Romรกn Zaragoza as Sokka, Dionne Quan as Toph, Dave Bautista in a villain role, and newly added Taika Waititi in an undisclosed part.

Lauren Montgomery directs, with Steve Ahn and William Mata co-directing.

Original series composer Jeremy Zuckerman returns to score the project.

Paramount+ also greenlit ‘Avatar: Seven Havens’, a new 2D animated series set after ‘The Legend of Korra’.

The story centers on a young Earthbender who emerges as the new Avatar in a post-cataclysmic world where the title brands her as a destroyer rather than a savior.

Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko serve as co-creators and executive producers.

Ethan Spaulding acts as executive producer, with Sehaj Sethi as co-executive producer.

The series spans 26 episodes across two books of 13 half-hour episodes each.

Jane Wiseman, head of originals for Paramount+, stated that these projects represent the next evolution of storytelling from Avatar Studios, delivering epic adventures and emotional depth.

The original ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ and ‘The Legend of Korra’ already stream on Paramount+, where the flagship series consistently ranks in Nielsen’s top streamed titles.

This consolidation positions Paramount+ as the central hub for the animated Avatar universe.

The decision reflects broader industry trends toward streaming exclusives for established franchises.

Avatar Studios, formed in 2021, continues to develop additional projects within the bending world.

Fans gain access to new entries alongside the classics on one platform.

This move ensures ongoing expansion of the beloved elemental mythology through animation.
