Rumor has it that Thanos will return to the MCU as King Thanos, a multiversal variant of the Mad Titan, set to emerge in the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday.” According to insider @HolyfieldM5, King Thanos is an alternate-reality version from the Thanos solo run and Cosmic Ghost Rider storylines. In this reality, Thanos defeated the Avengers and is nearing the completion of his genocidal quest. He is rumored to be a pivotal antagonist in the “Multiverse Attraction” narrative.

King Thanos is a depiction of the Mad Titan who triumphed in the events of “Avengers: Endgame” and evolved into a ruthless monarch. His primary motive is to annihilate life to win the favor of Death, his love interest. He successfully exterminated all life on Earth and was pursued by Frank Castle, known as The Punisher.

Castle, after making deals with Mephisto and Galactus to stop Thanos, paradoxically ended up allying with him, lured by the promise of an endless list of criminals to punish. This alliance broke when Castle ventured back in time to prevent Thanos from ever becoming the Mad Titan.
