Russell Brand has been released on bail after appearing before a judge regarding new serious legal charges. The comedian participated in the hearing remotely from the United States while the proceedings took place at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London. He was granted unconditional bail at the conclusion of the short administrative session on Tuesday.

The investigation was originally triggered by a joint media exposé released in 2023 by ‘Dispatches’ and The Sunday Times.

That initial reporting brought several disturbing claims to the public eye and led to the current criminal proceedings. Brand has consistently denied all allegations of non-consensual behavior since the story first broke. He has frequently used his online platforms to address his fanbase and assert that his past relationships were always consensual.
