Ryan Gosling Eyes Ghost Rider Role in the MCU
Ryan Gosling has shown a keen interest in playing Ghost Rider in the MCU, capturing the excitement of fans who think he’d be great for the part. During a recent conversation with Josh Horowitz, Gosling shared that he had a ‘magical moment’ when he expressed his desire to take on the role, and it seems Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, might be on board. Gosling recounted how Horowitz managed to get Feige’s approval during an interview, which led to Feige openly praising Gosling’s potential for the MCU.

However, despite the positive feedback, there’s no confirmed plan from Marvel Studios to reintroduce Ghost Rider to the big screen anytime soon. The character of Johnny Blaze, whom Gosling would like to play, remains on the sidelines for now, even though Marvel has been exploring more supernatural stories. Shows like ‘Werewolf at Night’ and the anticipated ‘Agatha All Along’ could potentially set the stage for Ghost Rider’s return.
In a chat where Emily Blunt also chimed in, expressing surprise at Gosling’s interest in superhero roles, Gosling was quick to mention his excitement about the possibility. He invited Blunt to join him, showing his enthusiasm for the project. This is a bit of a shift for Gosling, who admitted he has turned down several superhero roles in the past because they weren’t the right fit for him.
The previous Ghost Rider movies, starring Nicolas Cage, did not do well critically or commercially. If Johnny Blaze does make a return to the MCU, it might be through a different avenue, possibly in a team-up project like the speculated Midnight Suns.
Fans of Gosling and Ghost Rider are left waiting to see if this casting will come to fruition. Marvel has held onto the rights for Ghost Rider for years, and there’s a growing hope among us that Gosling’s interest might reignite plans for the Spirit of Vengeance to blaze back into action. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and see where this goes.
