In a recent turn of events on ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte,’ we witnessed a major Jedi downfall during Episode 5, titled ‘Night.’ This episode saw the demise of Yord and Jecki, played by Charlie Barnett and Dafne Keen, respectively, at the hands of the newly unveiled Stranger, portrayed by Manny Jacinto. This character was revealed to be Mae’s, played by Amandla Stenberg, mysterious mentor.

Despite their early exits from the series, the showrunner, Leslye Headland, hinted at a possible return for these characters, likely in comic form. At a press roundtable hosted by Jedi News, she shared insights into their elaborate backstories developed in the writers’ room, suggesting there’s more to explore about Yord and Jecki. She also mentioned discussions with Pablo Hidalgo, a key figure at Lucasfilm, about expanding their stories in publishing.

The actors themselves had a light-hearted approach to their characters’ ends. Keen enjoyed the pivotal moment her character unveiled Maeโ€™s master by removing his helmet. She found it thrilling to film her death scene, taking pride in revealing the villainโ€™s true face. On the other hand, Barnett embraced his character’s fate with humor, joking about his impending death on set and finding joy in his role, despite its brevity.

As fans, we felt the shock of losing Yord and Jecki so suddenly. It’s exciting to think we might not have seen the last of them. Their potential return could offer us some solace and extend their legacies within the Star Wars universe.

‘The Acolyte’ has already aired its first seven episodes on Disney+, and the season finale is scheduled for release on July 16. The series has been a rollercoaster of emotions and surprises, and the final episode is eagerly anticipated. It seems Headland has more surprises up her sleeve for us, possibly giving us more time with characters we’ve barely said goodbye to.
