Despite his portrayal receiving mixed reviews initially, many now believe he was underutilized and deserved a solo movie as the charismatic Ragin’ Cajun.

In ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, Channing Tatum surprised audiences with his comic-accurate Gambit look, igniting discussions about who better captures the essence of this beloved character. While Tatum’s Gambit remains fresh in people’s minds, Kitsch’s fans on platforms like Reddit’s r/xmen argue that he had the swagger and charm necessary for Gambit, which was overshadowed by the movie’s poor script.

Despite his past comments about moving away from superhero roles, Kitsch expressed interest in returning to the character in future projects. He once mentioned in a discussion with ComicBookMovie.com and later confirmed in an interview with Den of Geek while promoting ‘Battleship’ (2012), that he would be open to revisiting Gambit, especially in cameo roles alongside Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

Fans seem to love the idea of seeing Kitsch reprise his role. They feel he hasn’t just the right look but also the demeanor to bring Gambit to life. Kitsch himself has shown enthusiasm about playing Gambit again, even into his mid-40s, emphasizing how flattered he is by the fan support.

What stands out is the affection and nostalgia for Kitsch’s version of Gambit, despite it being over a decade since his appearance. With Marvel Studios opting to cast Tatum in recent films, some fans are disappointed, preferring Kitsch’s interpretation of the character.
