‘The Acolyte’ May Have Accidentally Revealed Who The Stranger’s Sith Master Is

In episode five of ‘The Acolyte,’ the true identity of the enigmatic Sith known as The Stranger was finally disclosed. Known as Qimir, this character, originally introduced as a mere travel companion to Mae, is far more than he appears. Upon revealing himself, he mentioned his need for an Acolyte. Traditionally, an Acolyte is a hidden apprentice to a Sith, destined to eventually overthrow their master, following the Rule of Two established by Darth Bane.

This suggests that The Stranger, in his search for an Acolyte, is not the master Sith but rather the apprentice himself. The series may draw from Star Wars Legends, potentially introducing Darth Tenebrous as the master. However, it’s also hinted that The Stranger’s master could be a character already known to us in the series, thanks to several clues sprinkled throughout the episodes.

Another plot twist involves Mother Koril, a Zabrak whose body was conspicuously absent following a devastating fire at a witch coven’s fortress. While many other characters were confirmed dead, Koril’s absence hints she may have survived, possibly even initiating the conflict with the Jedi. This leads to speculation that she could be the master training The Stranger in Sith ways.

Moreover, the connection between The Stranger’s powers and the witches of Brendok was made clear. The Stranger and Mother Aniseya, a character already deceased, both demonstrated the ability to manipulate minds. This suggests that if Koril is still alive, she may share these powers and could be the mastermind behind The Stranger’s abilities.

As the series progresses, we’re led to believe The Stranger is recruiting Mae for a specific purpose. His intimate knowledge of the events on Brendok suggests his master, potentially Koril, was also present during the fire. With three episodes remaining this season, the true identity of The Stranger’s Sith master is eagerly anticipated, promising more twists and a deeper exploration of the Sith lineage.

Creator Leslye Headland hinted that The Stranger being Qimir was an expected twist, perhaps setting the stage for an even bigger reveal regarding the Sith’s true dynamics. With the series unfolding, we’re left to piece together the clues, eagerly awaiting the ultimate revelation of the dark forces at play.
