Rumors are swirling that The Batman Part 2 and 3 will be shot back-to-back next year, thanks to a tip from MyTimeToShineHello. However, The Batman Part 2 has been pushed back again and is now slated for October 2, 2026, rather than its original 2025 date. This delay comes four and a half years after the first film.

Director Matt Reeves’ sequel is not part of James Gunn’s new DC Universe, but Gunn assures us it’s not being sidelined. Warner Bros. is as committed to The Batman as any other project. While Gunn and Peter Safran are planning their own Batman film, titled The Brave and the Bold, expected in 2026 or 2027, Reeves’ The Batman Part 2 is facing its own challenges. The shift in the DC structure and Robert Pattinson’s hectic schedule contributed to the delay, with the SAG-AFTRA strike adding more complications.

Rumors suggest this could be Reeves’ last Batman movie, as the DCU plans to be the main continuity moving forward. But don’t jump to conclusions just yet. Reeves is also working on spin-offs like The Penguin and an Arkham Asylum TV show. While Pattinson is the only confirmed return for The Batman Part 2, it’s likely we’ll see Zoe Kravitz, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Barry Keoghan, and Colin Farrell back in action.

To tide us over, The Penguin spin-off series with Colin Farrell will hit HBO Max in Fall 2024. This eight-episode series should keep us engaged until the sequel’s release.

TopFilmMagazine on Instagram hints at further delays for The Batman Part 2. Insiders claim Gunn is keeping a close eye on the sequel and has given notes to Matt Reeves, which might affect the director’s vision.

Stay tuned for more updates as we hope these delays don’t extend further.
