‘The Boys’ Star Talks About His Character’s Leaked ‘Cameo’ in James Gunn’s ‘Superman’

Nathan Mitchell, known for his role as Black Noir in ‘The Boys’, recently spoke about his characterโ€™s unexpected cameo in the upcoming Superman movie directed by James Gunn. Though the movie is still a while away from hitting theaters, some leaked photos suggest a character strikingly similar to Black Noir might be featured. Mitchell finds it flattering that his portrayal could influence such a major film. He shared his excitement with Entertainment Weekly, noting how surreal it is to think his character could inspire a villain in a Superman movie.

Mitchell also reflected on the emotional rollercoaster he experienced with Black Noirโ€™s storyline. In Season 3 of ‘The Boys’, he had to deal with his character’s death, which initially left him heartbroken. However, Season 4 brought a twist with Black Noirโ€™s resurrection, featuring Mitchell as a new version of the character, now called New Noir, who unlike his predecessor, actually speaks. He admitted to Entertainment Weekly that initially he wanted to leave with his character but after some thought, he decided to embrace the new role.

‘The Boys’ and Superman seem to be discussing superheroes from different angles. Mitchell pointed out that the reboot of Superman is not just about the hero himself but also makes a statement on his relevance today, much like ‘The Boys’ critiques the superhero genre through characters like the Seven and Homelander. Mitchell is intrigued by the idea of these two worlds overlapping in terms of how superheroes are viewed in society.

Furthermore, Mitchell teased future episodes of ‘The Boys’ where fans can expect to see more of New Noirโ€™s dark side, hinting at his complex backstory and the extreme lengths actors might go to for their roles. It sounds like thereโ€™s much more to New Noir than meets the eye, and we canโ€™t wait to see how it unfolds.

You can catch more of Nathan Mitchellโ€™s New Noir in ‘The Boys’ now streaming on Prime Video, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
