The End of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga is in Sight

Marvel Studios’ Multiverse Saga has been thrilling audiences, and now we know exactly when this chapter will close. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is navigating through Phase 5, set to wrap up next year with ‘Thunderbolts’. But the excitement doesn’t end there; Phase 6 will follow, featuring two Avengers films in 2026 and 2027 that will conclude this epic saga.

Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television and Animation, recently revealed in a Screen Rant interview that ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ will mark the end of the Multiverse Saga. He expressed confidence that the film will be a spectacular finale, making the entire journey worthwhile.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo will return to the director’s chairs for both ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. The duo has a history of delivering blockbuster hits for Marvel, including ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, and ‘Avengers: Endgame’.

Their knack for wrapping up immense storylines is evident, and they’re gearing up to deliver yet another show-stopper. Adding more star power to the mix, Robert Downey Jr. will grace the screen as Doctor Doom, stepping away from his iconic role as Iron Man.

Before we get to witness the grand finale, Marvel has several other movies lined up. ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is set to release in February, followed by ‘Thunderbolts’ in May. Summer 2025 will bring ‘The Fantastic Four’, and later, the highly anticipated ‘Blade’ reboot, although its November 2025 release might be doubtful due to current production delays without a director.

As we speculate about what’s next for Marvel post-Multiverse, the X-Men seem like a promising direction. Since Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019, fans have been eagerly awaiting a reboot of this beloved franchise. Although ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ served as a fitting farewell to the Fox era, the anticipation for the mutants to take center stage in 2028 and beyond is high.

Marvel’s upcoming series ‘Agatha All Along’ adds to the excitement, diving into the story of Agatha Harkness who, with the help of a mysterious goth teen, escapes a distorted spell. They embark on a perilous journey along the Witches’ Road, facing numerous challenges in hopes of regaining what they’ve lost.

Fans should mark their calendars for May 7, 2027, when ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ hits theaters, promising to be an unforgettable climax to the Multiverse Saga.
