Tom Holland is excited about the possibility of Timothée Chalamet joining the Marvel Universe. With Spider-Man 4 in early development, Holland sees Chalamet as a perfect fit for a key character in Peter Parker’s life.
In a 2021 interview with the Associated Press, Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon discussed Chalamet joining the cast. Holland said Chalamet could start as a friend to Peter Parker and eventually become a villain. Zendaya agreed, adding that Chalamet would make a great addition to the Spider-Man saga.

Harry Osborn, the son of Norman Osborn (The Green Goblin), has been portrayed by James Franco and Dane DeHaan in previous Spider-Man adaptations. However, he hasn’t appeared in the current MCU films. With Peter Parker’s name wiped from everyone’s memory in the MCU, the stage is set for new characters to enter Peter’s life.
Tom Holland believes Chalamet’s acting skills and age make him an ideal candidate. At 28, Chalamet has already built an impressive career with roles in ‘Dune,’ ‘Wonka,’ and ‘Little Women.’ He is around the same age as Holland, which fits well for the character.
Despite the enthusiasm from Holland and Zendaya, Chalamet has expressed hesitations about joining a superhero movie. He shared that a hero of his once advised him to avoid drugs and superhero movies. However, there’s hope he might change his mind in the future.
With Spider-Man 4 aiming to bring Peter Parker’s adventures to a more grounded level, it’s an excellent opportunity for new characters to become a significant part of the story. Chalamet’s potential, either as a friend or foe, is something many of us are eager to see.
