Toxic Marvel Fans Called Out Over ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Comparisons to ‘She-Hulk’s’ Most Criticized Scene

Marvel’s latest release, Deadpool & Wolverine, is smashing box office records, much like its characters clash on screen. From the get-go, the movie delivers all the thrills you’d expect from such a dynamic duo. It kicks off with a striking dance number featuring Deadpool using Wolverine’s Adamantium-laced remains to take down enemies, all while busting moves to N*Sync’s ‘Bye Bye Bye.’ This scene has fans everywhere chuckling and sharing their joy online.

However, not long ago, the response to a dance scene in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was far less positive. The show included a moment where Jennifer, played by Tatiana Maslany, danced in a twerk-off with Megan Thee Stallion. Unlike the reaction to Deadpool, this scene was often pointed out as a weak spot, drawing lots of criticism and poor reviews.

Now, we’re seeing some Marvel fans highlight this as a clear example of double standards. They’re debating on social media, particularly X/Twitter, about why what worked in Deadpool & Wolverine drew backlash when it came to She-Hulk.

Deadpool & Wolverine is one of the few Marvel Cinematic Universe projects that nearly everyone seems to love. It boasts one of the highest audience scores for the franchise on Rotten Tomatoes. The contrast in reactions to similar types of scenes in these films has sparked quite a conversation. Some argue that Deadpool’s success is due to its appeal primarily to ‘straight males,’ while others feel that She-Hulk just missed the mark, calling it unfunny and uninspired.

Yet, regardless of differing opinions, Marvel isn’t slowing down. Characters who’ve faced criticism like Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, and She-Hulk will return. So will Deadpool and possibly Hugh Jackman’s version of Wolverine. This ongoing debate, including the recent discussions around Robert Downey Jr.’s casting as Doctor Doom, is just part of being a fan in the Marvel universe.

As for me, it seems like these debates are just another aspect of what keeps the Marvel world so engaging for all of us. Whether we agree or disagree, we all keep coming back for more.
