Vin Diesel Brings Riddick Back in First Images for ‘Riddick: Furya’
Fans of Vin Diesel will be thrilled as he returns to his role as Richard B. Riddick in the upcoming film ‘Riddick: Furya’. This much-anticipated fourth film in the series has started production, and Diesel himself has given us a sneak peek with some behind-the-scenes photos. In one photo, he’s seen wearing his iconic black goggles, and in another, he’s navigating a desert in a futuristic vehicle.
These glimpses into ‘Riddick: Furya’ hint at the return to Riddick’s home planet, a place he doesn’t remember well and fears to find in ruins. In this new installment, Riddick discovers other Furyans fighting to survive against a new enemy. It seems these Furyans share more in common with Riddick than he ever imagined.
Directed and written by David Twohy, who previously worked on the other films, and produced by Diesel, ‘Riddick: Furya’ promises to be a deep dive into the origins of Riddick. Jim and Ken Wheat, who helped create the original concept, are also on board, adding to the film’s authenticity.
Introduced over two decades ago in ‘Pitch Black’, Riddick quickly became a fan favorite. This film depicted a group of space travelers stranded on a planet filled with night-loving monsters. The 2004 sequel, ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’, expanded this universe but didn’t resonate as well with audiences and critics. The series returned to its roots with the 2013 film ‘Riddick’, focusing on a more contained story of survival against both planet and pursuers.
David Twohy and Diesel are excited about this next chapter. Twohy has mentioned that this film has been a long time coming, driven by fan demand. They’ve developed a rich world around Riddick, including three movies, video games, an anime, and motion comics.
Although ‘Riddick: Furya’ doesn’t have a release date yet, the excitement is building. This film is not just a continuation but an exploration of Riddick’s beginnings on his homeworld.
